Conair’s “Untying of the Knot”

#knotawedding

I wouldn’t have thought that I’d have to put my wedding photography skills to use at an event for Conair, but here we are. To announce the launch of their Knot Doctor Detangling Brush, they held a mock wedding referred to as the “Untying of the Knot” ceremony. It sounds bizarre, but it was perfectly and hilariously executed by all those involved: Sara Foster (of 90210 fame) and her sister Erin Foster (comedy writer and performer) were the “officiants”, and model Nina Agdal was knot-a-bride and DJ Quintero was her hair husband, the one to do the untying.

Nina led Samson the Doodle to the altar, bearing the Knot Doctor brush on his back, and the ceremony proceeded with descriptions of the brush, jokes about how Sara unexpectedly also wore a wedding dress, as well as the actual untying (shown below).

From my end, it was the quickest few hours of my life! The event was scheduled to last about two hours, and everything was perfectly timed down to the minute—we quickly moved from each point of the itinerary to the other, and it was one photo op after another. Everything was beautifully decorated and everyone looked great, but it really was a coordinated effort between the video crew (all told, 5 videographers and two photographers, including me and the crew I worked with from Shughes Studios along with a crew from Getty images). We were all on the same page and enjoyed working together (one of the videographers was literally named Sharky!—it’s the closest I’ve been to meeting someone with the same name as me), but we were, as is expected at this kind of event, bumping into each other and everyone else making sure we each got the shots we needed. Check out below some of the other images I captured of this wild night!
